Family caregivers and their recipients have a unique and special relationship. Both parties deserve to be valued and treated with respect and honor. In the U.S. alone, there are 63 million family caregivers. Everyone needs help -- because aging, sickness and juggling life isn't easy.

• 29% of U.S. adults are part of the "Sandwich Generation" caring for kids and older relatives.
• There are roughly 63 million Americans who are unpaid family caregivers for an adult or child with special needs.
• 61% of caregivers are juggling their own jobs with their caregiving responsibilities. 
• 90% of older adults plan to age in place (in their own homes rather than in a facility)

Caregiving affects one's health, work stability and personal finances. Approximately 64% report high emotional stress and 45% report high physical strain due to the daily demands of caregiving. Fifty percent of caregivers who also work to earn an income, report that their caregiving responsibilities have impacted their performance or career progression. Fifty percent of caregivers report major financial strain. 

And what about the child caregivers? Kids often become the default helpers and carers when family members need assistance and care. Caregiving affects everyone.
